7.30pm Morpeth Methodist Church

Morpeth Music Society 2022 Frankland Quartet

Programme (on occasion, the artists may make minor changes to the published programme)

Haydn String Quartet Op. 20 No 4 in D major

Tippett String Quartet No 2

Dvoƙák Quartet Op. 96, No 12 in F major ‘The American’

The Frankland Quartet is firmly based in the North East - the musicians having met as colleagues with the Royal Northern Sinfonia.  You will, no doubt, recognise violinists Sarah Roberts and Sophie Appleton, violist James Slater and cellist Daniel Hammersley from their regular performances at the Sage.

The quartet formed in 2017 and is the current Quartet-in-Residence at Durham University.  The artists create innovative programmes, balancing familiar and newer works, with a particular focus on female composers and under represented groups.
