INTERVAL

Schubert Sonata in B flat major D 960

Pianist  Florian Mitrea  arrived in the UK in 2008 to study at the Royal Academy of Music and is currently developing his flourishing international career.  Most importantly for us, Florian has garnered rave reviews from many local music societies around the country.  We can look forwards to a most enjoyable evening!

Florian has chosen a classical programme for Morpeth, opening with an early Beethoven sonata and Chopin then undertaking Schubert's monumental last piano sonata D960 in the second half.

'Mitrea not only played with muscular style and poetic delicacy, but he was clearly enjoying every bar – swaying into the melodies, beaming at the orchestra, restless in his musical rests -eager to get playing.' The Cambridge Critique
