Arensky Trio No 1 in D minor
Martinů Bergerettes Nos 1,3 & 4
Smetana Trio in G minor Op.15
The Kinsky Trio Prague was founded in 1994 by violinist Lucie
Sedláková Hůlová and cellist Martin Sedlák. Together with pianist
Veronika Böhmová, the musicians specialise in performing the work of
Eastern European composers. Our interesting programme starts with
Russian composer Arensky’s glorious first piano trio, which features
the cello line, having been written to commemorate a cellist friend
of the composer.
Czech folk rhythms drive Martinů’s Bergerettes in a lively suite.
The musicians have chosen to complete our programme with Czech
composer Smetana’s only work for piano trio. The trio, composed to
commemorate his beloved and very musical daughter, explores
emotional themes culminating in a wild Rondo.
